To celebrate National Science and Engineering Week Shorefields held its first ever science fair on Friday 18th March. 8.A helped organise the event which included several stalls and displays. Activities included;
- CSI
- Acids and alkalis
- Space
- Gravity well
- Parachutes
- Electricity
- Water rockets
To help with Red Nose Day there were also fun games including; Wii Sports and atomic golf!
A company called Starchaser who build commercial rockets also helped with the event, bringing their 'rocket on a lorry' to the school. Pupils built air rockets and launched them in the yard, with a 10m high rocket in the background!
Year 6 from Matthew Arnold also came for a visit, building rockets and taking part in all the games.
The event was a huge success, and the science department would like to thank everyone who took part.
